Hiking in Hawaii

A great activity that anyone can enjoy in Hawaii is hiking. There are numerous scenic trails throughout the island. Whether you are looking for a challenging workout or an easy stroll, there is a hiking trail that is just perfect for you in Hawaii. To enjoy your hiking adventure to its fullest, take advantage of the following hiking tips.
  1. Wear comfortable shoes – This is an obvious one but you’ll be surprised at how many people choose fashion over comfort. This is not an activity to do that. Comfortable hiking shoes with good tread are the best choice.
  2. If possible, hike with another person – Hiking alone is not recommended for safety reasons. It’s also more fun to share this activity with someone else.
  3. Wear mosquito repellant – Nothing is worse than ending up with mosquito bites all over your body. Avoid unnecessary pain and suffering by wearing mosquito repellant before you head out on the trail.
  4. Wear a light shirt and take a light jacket – Keep cool during your hike with a light shirt. If you will be hiking into the evening or night, it’s a good idea to have a light jacket with you as well.
  5. Carry a backpack – Put all your essentials in here including sunscreen, snacks, plenty of water, and possibly a small first aid kid. It’s always better to be over-prepared than underprepared.
